Wilkes University offers the degree in Online Teaching with an embedded option for the Pennsylvania Online Instruction Endorsement. This 30-credit, fully online program, helps develop your skills and knowledge in instructional design, effective assessment practices for online environments, building collaborative learning communities, and much more.

Course Requirements

This program requires the completion of 30 credits. You must register for all courses including PLS Classes through the Wilkes University website.

  • Utilizing Emerging Technologies to Support Education (ED 503)
  • Developing Online Programs (ED 5037)
  • Online Teaching for Pennsylvania Educators (ED 5032)  OR
    Social & Ethical Issues in Online Learning (ED 5033)
  • Teaching and Learning in the Online Environment (ED 5038) – To be taken last

How to Enroll

Apply through Wilkes University.
Applications are accepted on a rolling basis, and a completed application is required.

Optional Pennsylvania Online Instruction Endorsement

Wilkes is approved by the Pennsylvania Department of Education to offer the Online Instruction Endorsement. The endorsement consists of 12 credits culminating in 20 hours of field experience. It is offered as a standalone option or an embedded part of the Online Teaching degree program. If you are interested, you must hold a valid Pennsylvania Instructional I or II teaching certificate.
